2 Steps To Build A Free Self-hosted WordPress Blog

To build a self-hosted WordPress blog, what you need are a domain and a server, then you can install the WordPress platform and start to blog.

So, to build a FREE self-hosted WordPress blog, you need a FREE domain and a FREE server.

A Free Self-hosted WordPress Blog

As far as I know, there are no REAL free domains in the world at all, even though you can register a ".tk" domain and use it free for 1 year.

But, there are many free sub-domains instead, and which are offered by free host service providers, so, you can build your own self-hosted WordPress blog with only the following 2 steps:

Step 1. To get a free server

To get a free server, you can search "free host" on Google and pick up one from the search result pages.

When picking up a free sever (such as http://www.1freehosting.com/), you can register a sub-domain (such as freenuts.hostingsiteforfree.com), then you can start to install your WordPress.

Step 2. To install WordPress

There will be 2 ways for you to install WordPress in your free web hosting, one is manual, the other is automatic.

For the manual way, you need to download the WordPress package from the WordPress.org site, to upload it to your server and to install it according to the instructions.

And for the automatic way, it only works for those free web hosting services which offer "Auto Installer" feature, with which, you can install WordPress or some other platform (such as BuddyPress, Joomla, phpBB, etc.) automatically in one click.

Obviously, the automatic way is easier than the manual way, even although you may install an older version of WordPress, which you can update to the latest version after installation. And what is more, with the automatic way, you do not need to build a database or to configure the "config.php" file as what you need to do with the manual way.
