If you just want to capture a picture of the web page you are watching, these 13 online image editors will be your good choices. And if you want to record your desktop screen during a certain time, below 4 websites will offer you the right services for free, just check them out.
1. Screenr
You need a Twitter account to use Screenr, which allows you to record your computer screen for 5 minutes. You can select which region you want to record with your mouse. The screencast can be shared to twitter, uploaded to youtube, or just kept in screenr. Screenr is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.
2. ScreenToaster
ScreenToaster is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. You have to register to upload a screencast to ScreenToster or Youtube, as well as to share to Digg, StumbleUpon, FriendFeed and so on. No instruction mentioned how long you can record for a screencast.
3. Screenjelly
You are only able to make a full screen record file with no more than 3 minutes. The recorded screencast can be share to Twitter, Delicious, FaceBook, and so on. Maybe Screenjelly is compatible with all the computer operating system?
Screencast-o-Matic (SOM) is a simple and easy to use screen recorder, which is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. You have to select one screen size offered by SOM before screencasting, and the screencasting file can be uploaded to SOM or Youtube, but I’ve failed to upload the above screencast to youtube.
So, which free screen recorder do you use often?
Update: ScreenToaster & Screenjelly were not workable any more up to Jan 2012.

Hey,
I've had a chance to use all of these tools. Either the pricing structure, or the tool itself didn't need our specific needs, so we went ahead and built our own tool. It's available publically now at http://pastevid.com. It's free forever if you want to upload most of your videos to youtube. Otherwise, there are some other options.
Peace,
