To change the size of your Chrome, Firefox, Safari or some other browser, you can just drag its window to move and resize it, but which will be hard to get a particular resolution you like.
Instead, it will be easier that if you can resize the window to a preset size with the following 3 extensions:
1. Window Resizer
For Chrome, you can install the Window Resizer extension, which allows you to change your browser window to many existing sizes for different screens of desktops, laptops, notebooks or mobile phones, and you can also add any new resolution, by entering the numbers or using the current window/viewport size, which can be seen instantly when dragging the window.
Beside to resize the window, you can also decide where to display the resized window.
For Firefox, you can use Browsizer, which will show an extension icon in the add-on bar.
Besides 640 x 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768, you can also add any other screen size and display the resized window in any place.
3. Resizer Safari Extension
For Safari, you can install Resizer Safari Extension, but which is only available for Mac OSX.
After installation, you can click on the "View" menu, and select "Show Resizer Bar", then you can see 10 different tabs with different resolutions, you can't add new tabs, but you can change any of those 10 tabs.
For Opera, IE or some other browser, you can check out the ResizeMyBrowser website, which is available for you to change its popup window to any size you like, then you can drag your browser to match the popup window and resize it to the same resolution.
