How To Add Author Information In Google Search Results

Want to show your name under your blog post titles in Google search results?

Although people search for what they need and do NOT care who write them so much, an author name in the search results may make you famous, such as what you can see from the following image:

While you can follow the Google official tutorial for reference, you can also check out the following 2 easier steps:

1. Install and set All In One SEO Pack

All In One SEO Google Plus Profile

As one of the best SEO plugins for WordPress, All In One SEO Pack is available for you to add blog author information, and to do so, you just need to add your Google+ profile URL (such as this) into the "Google Plus Profile Sitewide Default" column.

After clicking on the "Update Options" button, your author information will be added to every post of your blog, which you can double-check by viewing the page source, but which is not verified by Google yet.

2. Add Google+ contributor to your blog

To verify your author information, you can edit the About page of your Google+ profile, and add your blog name (Label) as well as its URL to the "Contributor to" column, as what you can see from the above image.

After that, open Structured Data Testing Tool, enter any blog post URL, and if you can see the author name as well as the verified mark, such as the following image:

Then your author information may be showed in the Google search results, which means that Google may not show the author information for all your blog posts, based on its interests.

By the way, All In One SEO Pack will only work for one author, if your blog has multiple authors, you need to follow the Google official tutorial and add an author tag in every blog post.
