I have ever made many invoices before for the Express services, which I thought is boring and not easy enough, although there is an excel format to follow.
Today, I come across a website which will let you make an invoice more easily.
The Invoice Machine is an online invoicing service, with which you can create invoices online easily. Once sign in, there will be a permalink for your account, and every invoice you sent to your client can be viewed online. Below is what the invoice dashboard looks like:
The finished invoice can be downloaded as a PDF file, or mailed to your client directly with a PDF file attached, the sent email will be look like this:
Your client can view the invoice by clicking the link or downloading the PDF file. Below is what the PDF file looks like:
There is a badge on the middle bottom of the invoice for free users, if your care about the badge, maybe you can download the PDF file and remove the badge before you sent to your client, or you can upgrade your account to a premium one. By the way, only 3 invoices per month for free accounts.

To be honest, I struggled when I used Invoice Machine - it looks nice, but found it very slow. I've recently been using http://www.billfor.it as was invited to their beta site. The invoicing and quotation side of things is really good and easy to use. The invoices can be fully customised too - although the HTML editor is a little hard to get to grips with :(
