Besides RapidShare, there are tens of other similar file-hosting sites, and among which, the following 10 are the best:
You need to sign up to use the file-hosting services offered by 4shared, such as to get 10 GB storage, to upload multiple files (up to 2 GB for each) or a folder at a time, to share a file or a folder, or even to import files from Gmail, Google Docs, Orkut and Picasa.
For those files shared on the website, you don’t need to wait to download, but you can only download them one by one for free account, and they will be deleted 30 days after your last login.
BayFiles offers unlimited free storage, but the files you uploaded will be deleted after 30 days.
Without registration, you can upload one file up to 250 MB, and after login as a free user, you can upload one file up to 500 MB.
For those files shared on BayFiles, you need to wait 10 seconds to download them.
You need to register to use the file-hosting services offered by DivShare, which allows you to upload multiple files (up to 200 MB for each) one by one at a time, to add tags to them, to put them in a new folder, to make them public or private, etc.
What is more, you will have 20 GB free storage, and your files will be kept forever until you delete it.
For every shared file, you need to wait 15 seconds to download it.
With FileSonic, you can upload any file up to 400 MB, multiple files at a time, and as many files as you like, with or without registration.
For the shared file, you need to wait 30 seconds to download it, which will be deleted after 30 days.
FileSonic also allows you to transfer your Dropbox files that are in your Dropbox account into your FileSonic account and vice-versa.
On the Hotfile website, you can upload as many files (up to 400 MB for each) as you like with or without registration.
For the shared file, you need to wait 15 seconds to download it, and 30 minutes to download another one, but you can hack it and download multiple files at a time.
The files that have not been accessed for 90 days will be deleted.
On the MediaFire website, you can drag and drop or select and upload multiple files (up to 200 MB for each) at a time, and then share them together with one URL.
For those shared files, you can download them directly without wait, but there are some ads on the downloading page.
MediaFire doesn’t have a clear statement that how long your files will be stored, but "Four email notifications will be sent out prior to removing files from our servers for account inactivity", as it says.
The Megaupload.com website allows you to upload multiple files at a time, and the file size can be up to 1 GB, but you need to add description for every file.
After registration, you can have 200 GB free storage, and your files will be stored until at least 90 days after their last download, instead of 21 days as a non-user.
And for every shared file, you need to wait 45 seconds to download it.
On the SendSpace website, you can drag and drop or browse and select multiple files at a time to upload, and then share them together with one link or one by one with a separate link for each.
The file you can upload is up to 300 MB, but you can upload as many files as you like, with or without registration. And you don’t need to wait to download the files, but there are pop-up ads when downloading.
Uploading offers quite different services for free users and non-users. For free users, you can have 10 GB storage, you can upload a file up to 2 GB, which won’t be deleted until 4 months later; but for non-users, you can only upload a file up to 1 GB, and which will be deleted after 3 months.
You can share the download link before the file is completely uploaded, but you need to wait 45 seconds to download it.
On the Wupload website, you don’t need to register, but you will get 750 GB free storage after registration.
You can upload multiple files (up to 2 GB for each) at a time, then share them one by one with separated URLs. And for those shared files, you need to wait 20 seconds to download them, which will be removed after 30 days.
