Two Ways To Integrate Google Reader With Google+

Looking for a simple, stable and significant VPS as your web hosting? Check out DigitalOcean, only $5 per month, and you can get $10 in credit just for signing up now.

Google is going to integrate Google Reader with Google+, which the Iranians are upset over, and we still have no idea how the integration will be.

But now, there are already two ways for you to integrate Google Reader with Google+.

I. Send To

You can open the “Send To” setting page of Google Reader, and create a custom link with the following contents:

Name: Google+

URL: https://plusone.google.com/_/+1/confirm?hl=en&url=${url}

Icon URL: https://ssl.gstatic.com/s2/oz/images/favicon.ico

Then you can send any RSS feed to your Google+. For more details, you can check out this tutorial.

II. RSS Share for Google Plus™ and Google Reader™

RSS Share for Google Plus™ and Google Reader™ is a free Chrome extension, which is available for you to read and share Google Reader feeds on Google+ as well as to share feeds to Google+ in Google Reader.

1. To read and share Google Reader feeds on Google+

In the left sidebar on your Google+ homepage, you can see a "Reader" column, under which there are all your subscribed RSS feeds in Google Reader.

For those feeds, you can read them, mark them as read or unread, and share them to Google+. But you can’t star, like, email or sent to some other websites as what you can do in Google Reader.

2. To share feeds on Google+ in Google Reader

In the bottom toolbar of every post in your Google Reader, there is a "Share on Google+" button, clicking which, you can share the post on your Google+.

For me, to share Google Reader feeds on Google+ is enough, and unless Google can insert Google Reader with all its existing features into Google+, I stand on the side of Iranians.
