Although WordPress Dashboard allows you to upload and insert multimedia to a blog post, it may be still a little complex.
Apture is a free plugin which allow you to add multimedia to a blog post in one click, and it is workable for any kind of blogging platform, such as WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, and so on.
There are two big functions for Apture: Add Apture Link and Add Apture Embed. From which, you can add a link to any multimedia or embed any multimedia to the post directly. And what is more, you can search multimedia to be added.
The readers won’t be led to the original web page when they click the link, instead, all the multimedia you link to will be open and performed in an apture window, images can be seen, maps can be used, and videos can be played directly.
Besides images, maps, and videos, you can also link to or embed a reference article, a person, an audio, and so on, anything you want to.

2. Enter a special url
Enter a URL to any web page, image, video, document, PDF, MP3 or blog post.
3. Link to Embed Code

III. Once you have got the multimedia, you can make some change before inserting them into the posts:
1. Change the title or caption
2. Resize. Just remember that the Apture has margins, which means the multimedia sizes have to be 12 px smaller than the largest sizes your blog template support.
Everything seems perfect, but all the functions should be done on the blog dashboard, if you write the post from your desktop software (such as WLW) or somewhere else, you have to go the dashboard and add the rich media.
