Digg sent me an invite to test its alpha product New Digg which is a creative version with a different domain new.digg.com.
Why I Like New Digg?
After test, I like New Digg for below three reasons:
1. The design is simple and easy-to-use

Compared to the Digg website, the New Digg website is easier to use with a clean and simple interface design.
To Digg a webpage, you just need to submit the link, select an image, choose a topic, and then you are done, all the process will be finished with a few clicks on the same page, you do not need to enter any characters even though you can edit the titles and descriptions.
2. You can import friends

You can import friends from your Facebook, Google and Twitter accounts and then follow them on New Digg.
3. You can import feeds

You can import feeds of your blogs or websites, and the feeds will be submitted to New Digg automatically, which is easy to promote your blogs or websites.
What’s Wrong with New Digg?
Although I like New Digg because of the above three reasons, I also dislike it for below three factors:
1. The feed verification sucks
It is easy to verify your feeds, but you have to add verification keys like below in your new posts:
40584d0c29ce4acfa805bc92b52cddcf
This will make your posts look weird. It will be more friendly if I can verify my feeds by uploading an HTML file with the verification keys to my website hosting.
2. It is not synchronous
When you first sign in New Digg, your Digg activities will be imported, but after that, your activities on the New Digg website won’t be synced to your account on the Digg website, and vice versa.
3. It is not so easy-to-use
It is really easy for you to submit links on the New Digg website, but how do you submit links when you are not opening the New Digg website?
Since you can use some tools (such as Shareaholic) to submit a link to the Digg website, isn’t it a little boring that you have to paste the link on the New Digg website?
So, New Digg and Digg are nearly two different websites, which will make users confused, why not make the Digg website like the New Digg website and then redirect new.digg.com to digg.com? Which I think will make everything simple and easy and perfect.
