3 Ways To Add The +1 Button To Your WordPress Blog

Looking for a simple, stable and significant VPS as your web hosting? Check out DigitalOcean, only $5 per month, and you can get $10 in credit just for signing up now.

+1 buttonFinally, Google has launched its new product — the +1 button, which is a social sharing plugin for the people who love your contents to recommend them on Google search.

Then, when you search Google, you may see the results shared by your friends via the +1 button, if the contents they shared meet your search queries.

To add the +1 button to your WordPress blog, you can check out the following 3 easy ways:

1. To use the Google codes

Google offers instructions for how to add the button into your site on the official +1 site.

You choose the size as well as the language, paste the script code in any place between the body tags of your WordPress theme, and paste the g:plusone code in the place where you want the +1 button to display, that’s all.

In order to make sure the blog contents loading first, you’d better put the script code in the footer of your theme.

2. To use the AddThis plugin

Now, the WordPress plugin AddThis has supported the +1 button, which you can active on the plugin setting page, as what you can see from the above image.

But there is only one +1 button style you can choose.

3. To use the Google +1 Button plugin

The Google +1 Button hasn’t appeared in the WordPress plugin directories yet, but it rocks.

For the +1 button, you can choose its size and position, you can select whether to show the count number, you can display it on pages, and you can also add it to your theme if you don’t like the way where it displays as default.

In the future, there will be more and more WordPress plugins that support the +1 button, and I hope JetPack will be one of them soon.

Update: The Google +1 Button plugin is available on the WordPress.org plugin directories now.
