Increase Your Page Speed To A New Level

A few days ago, I have increased the Page Speed score of Free Nuts from 83 to 86 with the WordPress plugin WP Minify, and dreamed that one day the score would be over 90.

Now, the dream comes true and the blog’s Page Speed score has reached 91 by removing the WP Minify plugin, as what you can see from the following image:

Free Nuts Page Speed 91

The above scores are from GTmetrix, and according to Google’s official Page Speed Online tool, the Page Speed score is higher — up to 94.

The reason to drop the WP Minify plugin was that the latest version of W3 Total Cache has improved its minify functions, and beat WP Minify’s. So, I disabled WP Minify and enabled the W3 Total Cache plugin’s Minify feature.

Besides, I have also installed the WP plugin, since its latest version is available for you to optimize all your media library images in one click, and you don’t need to do that one by one manually again, even though this version is experimental and not very stable.

For step-by-step instruction about how to use W3 Total Cache and WP to increase your Page Speed to a new level, you can check out the WordPress Optimization Guide page of the GTmetrix website.

Now, I am dreaming that the Page Speed score of this blog will reach 100 (beating Google’s 99) next time. 🙂

Spread the love
